   West Metro Multi-Community Wellhead Protection Plan – Part 1 Adoption and Continued Participation

   The Richfield City Council received an informational presentation on the West Metro Multi-Community Wellhead Protection Plan, a first-of-its-kind regional initiative involving eight cities — Bloomington, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Richfield, and Saint Louis Park — partnering with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and Metropolitan Council. Part 1 of the plan, which established the multi-city Drinking Water Supply Management Area (DWSMA) by analyzing time of travel to 89 community supply wells, was approved by MDH on January 23, 2025. No council direction was requested at this meeting; the item was presented for awareness and context.
