City Manager Executive Search Firm Interviews

The City Council interviewed five executive search firms — Strategic Government Resources, GMP Consultants, DDA Human Resources, Government Professional Solutions, and Innovative Public Advisors — to assist with recruiting Richfield's next City Manager. Each firm gave a 10-minute presentation followed by 20 minutes of Council questions, after which Council was to identify a preferred firm. A contract with the selected firm is scheduled to come back for formal approval on July 14, 2026.

final tally arrives when the city publishes the minutes

Potential benefit

Selecting a strong search firm helps ensure Richfield finds a qualified, values-aligned City Manager who will oversee city services, budget, and staff for years to come.

Concern to consider

The cost of the search firm contract, to be finalized July 14, 2026, will affect the 2026 revised budget, though the exact dollar amount was not yet determined at this meeting.

What happens next: The Council will identify a preferred search firm and staff will negotiate a contract, which is scheduled for formal Council approval on July 14, 2026.
