City Manager Executive Search Firm Interviews

The City Council interviewed five executive search firms—Strategic Government Resources, GMP Consultants, DDA Human Resources, Government Professional Solutions, and Innovative Public Advisors—to assist with recruiting Richfield's next City Manager. After the interviews, the Council reached consensus to direct staff to negotiate a contract with GMP Consultants. That contract will come back for formal Council approval on July 14, 2026.

Potential benefit

Choosing an experienced search firm helps ensure the City finds a qualified, well-vetted candidate to lead city operations and services residents rely on.

Concern to consider

The cost of the search firm contract, to be finalized July 14, 2026, will affect the City's 2026 revised budget, funded by taxpayer dollars.

What happens next: A formal contract with GMP Consultants will be presented to the City Council for approval at the July 14, 2026 regular meeting.
